(2005 Vintage) Intense, highly concentrated, ripe-cherry fruit is the driving force of this flamboyant and lavishly oaked bottling. Unmistakably Hobbsian in terms of its richness, ripeness and oh- so-sweet spice, it is exceptionally well-balanced with a fine sense of layering that bodes well for the future. Big, but not heavy, and unstinting in fruit at the finish, it will win standing applause from those who favor expansive Pinots.
