Winemaker's Notes

The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon has a purple-red color with good depth and bright youthful hues. The aromas feature ripe blackberries, fresh boysenberries and plums. The wine’s bouquet delivers cocoa powder, hazelnuts with a hint of smoke. On the pallet, flavors of succulent juicy olallieberries and creamy vanilla predominate and are joined by a waft of juniper. The flavors are supported by well integrated tannins that contribute to a long, smooth, and elegant finish.

At first taste there was a slight effervesce, a carbonated mouth feel. As it opened the fruit came through nicely. My guests commented on how much they enjoyed this wine.

The addition of Petit Verdot gives this Cabernet Sauvignon something extra. Flavors of dark berries, blackberry, currant, tea leaf and eucalyptus, in addition to a smooth finish, make this a consistent value Cabernet Sauvignon.
