Deep ruby-red. Brooding, medicinal aromas of crushed cassis and violet. Juicy, intense and sharply delineated, with utterly primary black fruit flavors. Happily, there's plenty of stuffing and depth here for aging, not to mention a firm tannic structure.
(From 2011 Vintage) The high-tone, vibrant aromas awaken the memory of very ripe raspberries warmed by the summer sun, with a floral element of violets, balanced by sweet, well-integrated French oak. The overall effect is subtle and deep. The palate is intense and full-bodied with flavors of dark ripe cherry, plentiful satiny tannins and rich toasted oak on the long finish.
