Clay, present in the soil in small quantities, confers the wine some tannic astringency that makes it pleasantly dry. Produced using modern equipment and techniques but still in a traditional way, it combines the harshness of the variety with the flexibility of the new tendencies coming from the international market that promote pleasantness and persuasiveness. After 18 months spent in either 30/40 hl.-oak casks or barriques, the wine is blended in equal proportion. This is made to avoid too much wood in it. Nine more months in bottles and it will be ready for sale. A vivacious ruby red colour is in its heart, and complex and fruity aromas go to the nose, with evident notes of wood. Its dry personality and tannic sensations explode in the mouth, creating a velvety and wrapping frame typical of this variety. (hide)
