2008 Duckhorn Estate Grown Cabernet Sauvignon

Wine Description

(From «nv» Vintage) The final blend for our Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is approachable in its youth, with a soft texture and notable finesse, but also has the strength to carry forward for a decade or longer.

Winemaker's Notes

(From 2000 Vintage) The aromas of this Cabernet Sauvignon are a sweet medley of vanilla, caramel, black cherry, raspberry, toffee and chocolate that is supported by undertones of toasted oak. Layers of fruit and a dash of cracked pepper are followed on the palate by a long, rich finish. This wine is structured, with well-integrated tannins that will help it to age gracefully for ten to fifteen years.

(From 2006 Vintage) "Rating: 90/100 - As reviewed by Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine ( ) in the August 2010 issue. If arguably a slightly smaller scaled wine than its more opulent mates
  • Wine Spectator
(From 2001 Vintage) "A bold, rich, massive expression of exuberant Cabernet, with layers of concentrated currant, blackberry, spice and wild berry flavors that offer a mix of power and finesse, easing up a bit on the finish, where the tannins are ripe and firm. Best from 2006 through 2012. 2,642 cases made."
