(2012 Vintage) Dehlinger's Goldridge Pinot noir pay homage to the deeper goldridge soils where the vines tend to be more vigorous. A bright, red fruit character and approachable structure are typical of the Dehlinger Goldridge Pinot noirs, a brand we have crafted since the mid-1990s. Dehlinger's Altamont Pinot noir celebrates the hilltop sections of the Dehlinger vineyard, where the altamont soil predominates. These wines showcase darker fruit flavors and aromas of baking spices. The inclusion of a small percentage of whole clusters in the fermentation lends greater structure and aging potential. The top sections of the Dehlinger vineyard are bottled under the special High Plains Pinot noir and Octagon Pinot noir designations when the vintage quality permits.
very intense fruit notes, drank x-mas 2010, drinking really well now. silky tannins will improve in 4-5 yrs. update (2/14/2012): wow, this wine is showing well. smoked cherries, cedar, forrest floor. what an accomplishment in such difficult vintage. have one left and it will be hard to keep my hands off.
