The 2008 Stump Jump Red has a nose of ripe and juicy red fruits and fresh plums mixed with dark cherry, rhubarb and cardamon. The palate is soft and generous, with juicy fresh red berries, mulberry and a hint of pomegranate. Underlying is a more subtle layer of plum stone, star anise and cinnamon which adds complexity and interest, with soft powdery tannins to finish.
(From 2011 Vintage) A very pure expression of this popular wine. All three varieties play an important role in the wine’s overall perception. The Shiraz offers dark plum fruits, mulberries and licorice with plenty of concentration, depth and velvety tannin. The Grenache adds a lovely lusciousness to the wine with raspberry, blueberry and floral notes adding prettiness. Both of the afore mentioned varieties also give a little white pepper character which has been accentuated in the cooler vintage and really acts as a point of interest. Finally, the Mourvedre provides a perception of elegance and restraint through its lovely line of lovely red fruits with a hint of dried herb and importantly, a fine chalky tannin that carries all these characters to a long and wonderfully moreish finish.
delightful Shiraz. light on the palate, yet not at all lacking in depth. smooth aromas of berries and light grapes, and a light blend to bring you down under with every taste. rich flavor with a meade finish, earn this wine a spot in the cellar.
great nose, rocio says it smells like an earthy strawberry that hasn't been washed yet, maybe some plum and cherries; super smooth and velvety, lots of flavor, very drinkable, not a very long finish but tremendous value
wine spectator 90 pt best value. old bush-vine.
just smoked so... hints of berry, mellow, oaky, slight sweetness, soft pup pup at my side. finishes a little sour
very fruit forward with well integrated oak. well balanced and velvety. slight tobacco on the palate.
excellent companion to fancy pizza (bocconcini/proscuitto). not too sweet, but sweeter after.
Alcohol taste. Not bad, but not worth anything more than the price.
