Cloudline Pinot Noir Willamette Valley

Wine Details

Pinot Noir

Wine Description

On the nose, there is deep cherry and earth. On the palate, there is excellent weight and balance, with good structure, and substantial depth of fruit. It is a wine that offers immediate pleasure, either on its own, or better yet, in the company of a delicious meal. And though a good choice now and for any night of the week, this Cloudline is a classic Oregon Pinot Noir and can be enjoyed for several years to come. Pinot Noir is well-suited to pair with poultry, beef, fish, ham, lamb and pork. It will play well with creamy sauces, spicy seasonings and may just be one of the world’s most versatile food wines.

Extra soft Pinot Noir taste. not a lot of fruit on the palate. Not much in terms of tannins. Just not an overly exciting wine.

kind of disappointing. drinkable, and fruity but light. little substance. expected more from a 2008 Oregon Pinot.

Bright red. Smoky red berries and cherry on the nose, with a hint of anise that gains strength with air. Light in body but chewy in texture, offering bitter cherry and redcurrant flavors framed by dusty tannins. Nicely focused but a bit ungiving today. Some air helped this to flesh out and gain sweetness. Veronique Drouhin consults to this project.

Cloudline wines are a project of importer Dreyfus Ashby, vinified with guidance from DDO’s Veronique Drouhin. It’s a professional product, clean and straightforward, with tart red fruits and striking acidity. The tannins, ripe and firm, provide some finishing heft. —P.G
