This was my first experience with Cahors but not Malbec in blends. I identified the ripe plum, licorice and chocolate on the nose. On the palate I got nice acidity but chunky tannins and almost sour cherry. Pepper and earth as well. I hate to say but give me a nice Argentinian Mabec or Bonardo instead.
Great buy for 80% malbec 20% merlot! inky dark color oak, anise, vanilla on nose what malbec was intended to taste like! good acid well balanced!
88"Offers a fruity aroma, with plenty of snap to the red plum, berry and licorice flavors. Well-balanced and focused, with a finish of dark chocolate. Drink now through 2014."
