Wine Description

Bright and jazzy, with pretty pineapple, grapefruit, elderflower and spice flavors that linger on the finish without excess weight. This just floats on for a while.

Winemaker's Notes

(From 2014 Vintage) The Columbia Valley Chardonnay is a pleasurable, food-friendly Chardonnay. This is a fresh, soft style of Chardonnay with bright apple and sweet citrus fruit character with subtle spice and oak nuances blend Chardonnay grapes from vineyards throughout Washington's Columbia Valley to make this a complex, interesting wine. The sur lie aging gives it an appealing softness.

We like it better than the Indian Wells cab. Full bodied, but not overpowering Tannins.

(From 2001 Vintage) Even at its fairly modest price, one should expect more of this wine, and it is a surprise to see such a "small at its heart" effort from such a reliable producer. Its loose sense of basic fruit hints at apples and light oak, but its flavors hold those hints to mere wisps and it all ends too quickly.
