(2005 Vintage) Pichon Lalande seemed to me to be better than Parker rated it. But, it is light in color and depth and does not have all the qualities needed to make this one of the best Pichons. It is not a wine I would buy at current prices because there are much better vintages of Pichon Lalande available for the money in the market today.
Strong fragrance of oak. Complex wine, rather tannic, hints of black fruit.
deep ruby colour. full aroma, blackcurrant and spice with a slight floral aroma. medium body, soft, initial dry yet slightly milk chocolatey with well balanced acidity and nice integrated tannins with edge spice with good length. nicely layered wine. very pleasant!
spice and pepper, licorice and black current. oak, good length and smooth dominant tannins
