2008 Chateau Durfort-Vivens Grand Cru Classe Margaux

Wine Description

(From 2003 Vintage) Beautifully focused, the fruit is tightly integrated and balances purity and elegance with evident structure on the finish.

Winemaker's Notes

Bright medium ruby. Lightly roasted coffee bean, pepper and graphite aromas, complicated by ripe red cherry and sweet spices. Then quite tightly wound, even youthfully austere, on the palate, with a strong mineral quality and brisk acids framing the cassis and red cherry flavors. A well-balanced midweight with a firm tannic spine and good length.

(From 1982 Vintage) Rating: 4/5 - As reviewed by Decanter. Big fruity wine in balance on the nose and the palate. A very satisfying wine that will gain complexity in three to four years time.
