Winemaker's Notes

(From 2011 Vintage) This is modern styled Cahors is composed of 90% Malbec (known locally as Cot) and 10% Merlot, and comes from Pascal and Jean-Marc Verhaeghe of Chateau du Cedre, the leading estate of the region. Hand harvested. 30% aged in new oak. The wine displays the typical black color of Cahors, along with aromatics of meaty black fruits, licorice and spicebox. Beautiful dark color, intense and complex bouquet of earthiness, full and round in the mouth, supported by very fine tannins.
