Wine Description

(2008 Vintage) Rich plum fruit flavors with chocolate notes on the finish. Rich plum fruit flavors with chocolate notes on the finish. A real big wine. Amarone della Valpolicella is arguably the top tier of Valpolicella wine. It is made from dried grapes which results in a concentrated, full-bodied and rich wine with a 'rum and raisin' character.

(2008 Vintage) Packaged in an elegantly frosted bottle, this brawny wine delivers the goods. It shows intensity, persistency and is tightly packed with luscious aromas of black cherry, leather, tobacco and black olive. the tannins are velvety and rich without being overdone.

(2008 Vintage) This wine is produced from vineyards scattered throughout Italy’s historic Valpolicella Classico region in the towns of Negrar, Marano, Sant’Ambrogio, Fumane, and San Pietro in Cariano. The grapes are dried in plastic crates for three to four months and the wine then undergoes maceration on the skins followed by fermentation in stainless steel vats. It is aged for three years in Slavonian oak barrels and French oak casks, barriques, and tonneaux. Elegant and warm with a velvety mouthfeel, Amarone della Valpolicella Classico offers a bouquet of ripe fruit and cherries. It pairs well with hearty dishes like game, grilled red meats, and aged cheeses.
