Intriguing lifted aromas of spicy cherry, plum, masala spice and tea leaves. Dry, good fruit tones with upfront acidity for balance. This medium-bodied, medium-finishing wine is a great choice for barbecued gourmet sausages or hamburgers. (VINTAGES panel, March 2010) The Wine Insiders (96 points) "Deep red with aromas of fruit jam, black and red cherries and vanilla. Perfumed aromatics of dried fruit and spice come from the "appassimento" process and add further complexity. On the palate this breathtaking Amarone Classico is a full-bodied, elegant, complex and velvety wine displaying epic layers of figs, dark cherries, baking spices and a finish reminiscent of a Toblerone. This Italian treasure is truly mesmerizing now, and will evolve gracefully in the next few years (if you have the patience), peaking around 2016 in our estimate."-
