2008 Bogle Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon

Wine Description

(From 2012 Vintage) Deeply extracted cherry and bright cassis arrest the senses, holding captive on both the nose and the palate. Swiftly followed by red currant jam and black pepper, the supple mouthfeel fills out this full-bodied wine.

Winemaker's Notes

(From 2011 Vintage) Bogle winemakers have crafted an expressive example of this classic varietal. Richly extracted cherry and cassis arrest the senses, holding captive on both the nose and the palate. Swiftly followed by black pepper and black olive, the supple mouthfeel fills out this full-bodied wine. Spicy American oak heightens the dense fruit, finishing with wisps of ground pepper and stellar tannins.

aroma is sweet, reminds me of honeysuckle and pear. flavor is mostly of dark fruit, finish is hard to describe, velvety with tobacco flavor and very mild white pepper.

Very pleasing cabernet, excellent with grilled meats but just fine on its own. Full-flavored without sharpness, just the right amount of tannins.

light for a cab, light on the tannins, when paired with steak it does not cut through the fattiness
