Trefethen Cabernet Sauvignon Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley

Wine Description

(2007 Vintage) Its exuberant nose of ripe blackcurrants, black cherry, sweet herbs, pepper spice, cigar box and oak vanillin introduces a powerful palate of muscular cassis and blackberry flavors that gain a finishing kick of savory spice and toasty oak as this full-bodied colt races to the wire.

(2004 Vintage) 8% Merlot; 1% Cabernet Franc; 1% Petit Verdot. Ripe enough for its cassis- and cherry-like fruit to be nicely concentrated and taking on attractively rich notes of creme brulee and caramel in both its aromas and supple-textured palatal impressions, this wine is fairly full in bottle and holds on well at the end despite its light to medium tannins. Its solid structure and ample depth will hold it in good stead for four to six years.
