(From 2010 Vintage) The 2010 vintage comes fully-loaded with ripe red and black fruits and layers of sweet oak and spicebox, with just enough tannins to appeal to a broad range of folks, from jammy zin lovers to those who prefer more structured wines. It's big, flavorful, and satisfying.
(From 2012 Vintage) Orin Swift's Prisoner is a rich, fruit forward wine with the ripe berry characteristics and balanced structure of previous vintages. Aromatically it may be the most complex and evolved vintage at this stage. The nose of this delicious wine is sweet ripe, quietly smoky and very attractively fruity, as hints of licorice root, black tea, vanilla and coffee toffee meld seamlessly with dark cherry, plum and blackberry scents in a forward and engaging mix. The wine is every bit as charming on the palate, where the creamy vanilla, toffee and black tea notes are reprised while the flavors shift toward pomegranate and red raspberry.
nice Zin. drank in Denver at Indulge Wine Bar with Peter Fatianow. bold, rich wine that was quite good. may not want to spend $35 for bottle vs. other buys.
maker claims alc by vol likely 16% or better. met at loh at grove spring jinx 2010
