This is a classic Cabernet Sauvignon; it is inky, with aromas of violets, graphite and black fruits. It has impressive length, and a chiseled structure accompanied by sweet, soft black fruit and spiced with clove and nutmeg.
Wine & Spirits(2007 Vintage) The absolutely spectacular 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve has notes of pain grille and an almost Lynch-Bages-like creme de cassis, roasted herb, new saddle leather, and charcoal nose, with fabulous, full-bodied power, great silkiness, and richness, and again a very long finish that exceeds 40+ seconds. The purity, the richness, the overall harmony are all there, and the wine looks set for a terrific long life of at least two decades. There are approximately 940 cases of this blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, just under 12% Merlot, and 8% Petit Verdot, and the rest Cabernet Franc. Kudos to Snowden for pushing the envelope of quality.
