Aromas of raspberry, dark plum, and fresh oregano frame this Cabernet’s soft fruit with a light herbaceousness. Showing great varietal character on the palate, flavors of blackberry and red currant are closely followed by toasty French oak and a nuance of molasses on the mid-palate, adding weight and depth. Finishing with lingering crushed red berry and savory notes, the light tannins on the back end open up a variety of food pairing options. All together, the rich mouthfeel and fine structure creates balance in this wine that connoisseurs and novices alike will enjoy. Serve a pot roast with stewed winter vegetables with this wine, or try a wild mushroom pizza with thyme and goat cheese to pair with the full and varied flavors in our Smoking Loon Cabernet Sauvignon.
(From 2010 Vintage) Our 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon opens with earthy, herbaceous notes of green olive and coriander framed by blackberry and black currants. Ripe concentrated flavors of cherry and wild strawberry follow, accented with subtle mocha, caramelized sugar and chicory notes. Medium tannin and structure, moderate acidity and a nice oaky finish all lend a hand in creating a well-rounded highly enjoyable wine.
