(2007 Vintage) Ripe and lush, this is loaded with zesty, lingering flavors of licorice that follow aromas of black raspberry, pepper and toasty sage.
Rich and robust, flavors of blackberry, black cherry and raspberry mingle with spice and vanilla in the nose. This will nicely accompany hearty pasta and grilled marinated salmon, slow-smoked pork ribs, or duck à l’orange. -Astorwines.com

Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines(2006 Vintage) 13% Petite Sirah. There is a mix of drama and control in this wine, and it deviates from the expected norm for Rockpile Zinfandels to its great benefit. The depth and intensity possible from wines of the area are certainly evident here but so too is a brighter, more vibrant quality that firms up the wine's back end and finish while adding a bit of aging potential that should see it grow in the bottle.
