Wine Description

(From 2013 Vintage) The vineyards of the Maipo valley extend from the city of Santiago to the west where they meet the cool coast. Known for their distinctive renditions of well-balanced reds, the warmth of the sun and oscillating winds from the Andes provides ideal conditions for Cabernet Sauvignon. Root: 1 is particularly notable for its elegant, lush, and ripe fruit flavors.

Winemaker's Notes

(From 2013 Vintage) Deep garnet in color with bright reflections. Aromas of ripe berries, cassis, plum and dark cherry, followed by light toast notes. Juicy red berry and mocha flavors with a full-bodied structure, balanced by smooth tannins and a lengthy finish.

Root: 1 Cabernet pairs well with grilled steak or a hearty meat-sauce pasta. The ripe full-bodied flavors also complement roasted vegetables and spicy soups. A delightful match to chocolate desserts!
