(From 1999 Vintage) The result is a radiant wine. The color, a deep red and violet rose, is matched only by a very perfumed nose. Intense aromas of raspberry-cream, strawberry and rose petal, mix with a delicate balance of the varietals typical pepper notes. Sunny black raspberry and blackberry flavors come up against an edge of mineral tannin, potent enough to cut the sweetness of the fruit while managing to lengthen its flavor. This is a firm zin, with enough refreshing acidity to match orecchiette with fennel sausage and broccoli rabe.
