The nose is plum and black pepper with earthy undertones. On first taste, the acidity and tannins come through but subside quickly to a tart plum flavor accented with dark cherries. The finish is smooth and velvety with spiced coffee and the hint of sweetness as the dryness and body the wine let the flavors work in the mouth for some time. An excellent wine and a beautiful example of a Shiraz. Could age well, but who has time to let good wine sit when it could be enjoyed now.
A great light wine, with great body. Good beach breeze wine.
International Wine Cellar(2005 Vintage) Inky ruby. Raspberry and blackberry aromas are complemented by cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla. Sweet dark berry preserve qualities verge on sickly but are firmed by gentle tannins, which barely keep the wine's sweetness in check. Many wine lovers will find this undrinkable. At least one foot here is squarely planted in the critter-label school of cloyingly sweet beverage products that contain alcohol.
