Wine Description

(2007 Vintage) Michele Chiarlo makes a wide range of wines from some of the very best sites in Piedmont, but his base is in Calamadrana. From the Barbera grape, this is a dry, full and spicy red with hints of wild raspberries and cherries on the nose. It shows itself to be rich in ripe fruit and possesses a marked elegance; on the palate it is pleasantly easy to drink, harmonious and tasty. The aforementioned features make it a modern wine, highly successful and suitable for serving with the widest range of dishes.

(2007 Vintage) Chiarlo's 2006 Barbera d'Asti Superiore Le Orme is a delicious, fragrant Barbera. Made in a medium-bodied style, it offers notable harmony in its ripe red fruit, minerals and spices. Silky, refined tannins round out this terrific effort, which is a steal for the money. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2010.
