(2000 Vintage) Component #1, all grenache: Medium ruby. Cassis, roasted plum and animal fur on the nose. Fat and round, with moderate acidity. Finishes with a note of sappy kirsch and substantial tannins. #2, grenache from classic galets roules: Medium ruby. Classic, perfumed Chateauneuf du Pape aromas of red fruits, leather and game. Great sweetness and density in the mouth; a distinct step up from the first sample in texture and concentration. Really lovely mouthcoating flavors of black fruits and underbrush....

(2005 Vintage) Rating: 93-96 - As reviewed by International Wine Cellar in Issue 130, January/February 2007 Saturated purple. Powerful boysenberry and blackberry aromas and a musky underbrush tone give this a somewhat porty impression. But this is remarkably fresh, with vibrant red fruit and candied plum flavors, superb balance and fine, dusty tannins. Finishes with energetic black raspberry and strawberry flavors and outstanding persistence.
