(From 2012 Vintage) Pale straw yellow with a hint of green, the nose is beautifully pungent and varietally intense giving way to heaps of vanilla accented passion fruit, freshly cut lemongrass, mango and tangerine up front. There is also wet gravel and a touch of oak to balance the fruit. Bright and textural – the best of both worlds – great weight and mouthwatering acidity carries the fruit from entry to finish.
(From 2010 Vintage) Good bright, full ruby. Highly nuanced nose combines black raspberry, mocha, cedar and baking spices. Then silky, plush and sweet in the mouth, with blackberry and licorice flavors sexed up by Hermitage and Taransaud barrels. The rising, spicy finish features substantial but sweet tannins and suggestions of mocha and red berry liqueur.
