(From 2011 Vintage) This seamless blend offers a heady mix of blueberry and cherry aromas, underscored by layers of vanilla, clove, molasses, black pepper and lavender. On the palate, it is velvety and round with lush and lingering berry and cherry flavors supported by well-integrated tannins. Balanced acidity adds brightness and lift of brambly fruit, which carries through to a long, satisfying finish.
Nose: Jammy, cherries, vanilla. Palate: Long and complex, starts with fruit (cherry ice cream), then heads to a powerful, complex, rusty nail in a stinky sock flavor (but lovable). Tannins are balanced and moderated. Interesting to talk about (PL). Evolved quite a bit throughout the bottle.
Powerful but tasty. Nice texture and complexity.

Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines(From 2005 Vintage) 60% Zinfandel; 32% Cabernet Sauvignon; 6% Merlot; 2% Cab- ernet Franc. Other varietals may add their voices to this very rich wine, and Cabernet Sauvignon, in particular, brings a firm streak of tannin, but the wine is very much Zinfandel at its heart and is rife with very deep blackberry fruit and vanilla. Full and fleshy in feel, if still a bit astringent on the back end, it is beginning to hint at complexity to come and deserves to be left alone for some three or four more years.
