2007 Cristom Mt. Jefferson Cuvee Pinot Noir Willamette Valley

Winemaker's Notes

(From 2011 Vintage) Aromas of black cherry and red berry jam on toast with a hint of wood spice, fading over time in the glass. Light in weight with an appealing crispness, offering a core of red cherries partnering with a subtle note of dusty sage and other savory herbs.

lovely & multifaceted aromas from vanilla with herbs, bright red fruit, & intertwined with some subtleties of earth. the initial taste is of tart cherry & some raspberry but is rounded with black cherry. slightly minty with a finish of cedar. strong in structure & silky feel in the mouth.

Bright and alive with leanings to strawberries and red cherries, the Jefferson Cuvee strikes a slightly lighter stance and marries piquant young fruit with a deft bit of sweet oak. It picks up an edge of piquant acidity as it crosses the palate, but it is never "acidy" per se and turns the trick as a lively, mid-sized offering ideally suited to matching with milder meats or savory, grilled salmon dishes.
