Connoisseurs' Guide to California WinesBright and alive with leanings to strawberries and red cherries, the Jefferson Cuvee strikes a slightly lighter stance and marries piquant young fruit with a deft bit of sweet oak. It picks up an edge of piquant acidity as it crosses the palate, but it is never "acidy" per se and turns the trick as a lively, mid-sized offering ideally suited to matching with milder meats or savory, grilled salmon dishes.
