(From 2012 Vintage) Pinot Noir in the Willamette Valley is not considered to be queen or king, it is considered both. Pinot Noir is notoriously known in the wine community to be a finicky grape, so much so that you might think everyone in Oregon is a touch masochist. Or perhaps it is a grape that attracts people who believe in the pursuit of excellence, perfection and those who enjoy finding a way to exist with a grape that has a mind of its own. The truth is that we are simply in love. In love with a particular grape that demands respect, attention and care. In love with the possibilities of producing the Holy Grail of all wines. To our good fortune we live in one of a handful of regions in the world that Pinot Noir grows as it is intended. The Willamette Valleys cool climate, although frustrating during some vintages is ideal for growing Pinot Noir.
