100% Cabernet Sauvignon The 2007 Briarcrest combines complex structure with elegant fruit and stellar varietal appeal, making it as much a cellar selection as a natural fit for today’s table. Inky ruby red in color, on the nose it shows complex aromas of cassis, blackberry essence, licorice and perfumed hints of lavender, with notes of cedar and brown spice. On the palate, the wine delivers complex yet elegant black fruit flavors and big, chewy tannins before a lengthy finish, wrapping it all up with velvety notes of dark chocolate, cigar box and espresso.
Alexander Valley wine region
The slender Alexander Valley AVA is located in the north-eastern corner of the Northern Sonoma wine region. Its warm inland climate is shielded from the coast by several mountain ranges, although it is marginally affected by fog caused by the Russian river. Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines(2002 Vintage) Clean and somewhat simple yet quite attractive for a young wine of its wholly inviting price, this bottling smells of appley aromas with wisps of creamy oak and pie crust toastiness. Bright and slightly round in style with easy-to-like, direct fruit, this wine can often be found at deep discount and turns into a real bargain. GOOD VALUE
