Wine Description

(2007 Vintage)

100% Cabernet Sauvignon The 2007 Briarcrest combines complex structure with elegant fruit and stellar varietal appeal, making it as much a cellar selection as a natural fit for today’s table. Inky ruby red in color, on the nose it shows complex aromas of cassis, blackberry essence, licorice and perfumed hints of lavender, with notes of cedar and brown spice. On the palate, the wine delivers complex yet elegant black fruit flavors and big, chewy tannins before a lengthy finish, wrapping it all up with velvety notes of dark chocolate, cigar box and espresso.

Alexander Valley wine region
The slender Alexander Valley AVA is located in the north-eastern corner of the Northern Sonoma wine region. Its warm inland climate is shielded from the coast by several mountain ranges, although it is marginally affected by fog caused by the Russian river. Alexander Valley winemakers are known for producing quality, value-for-money Cabernet Sauvignon in elegant, fruit-driven styles. The wines are less earthy than their Napa equivalents, but are still in the same league. Red grapes are predominantly grown, including Zinfandel and the Bordeaux varieties Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot, but white varieties such as Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling and more ...

(2004 Vintage) Intense and concentrated, with a vibrant medley of dark fruits built around currant, blackberry and wild berry fruit that offers a unique flavor profile. Excellent acidity and firm, vibrant tannins on the finish. Still, the flavors are persistent. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec and Cabernet Franc. Drink now through 2012.
