Winemaker's Notes

Wine Tasting Notes The Cool Climate Syrah has great color, rich blueberry and black pepper character combined with a cedary-smooth finish and bright acid. The terroir of our "Lazy C" and "Lazy P" vineyards bring forward the cracked pepper and berry notes that are typical of Syrah from a cooler climate. This wine pairs well with seafood pasta dishes, tri-tip steak smothered in wild chanterelles, and chicken satay. • Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines
Ripe yet angular, chocolaty yet not convincingly ripe and fruity, this modest wine lives up to its billing as a smaller, lesser priced version of the grape. It has a soft, lazy quality at entry and then gets stiff and quiet at the finish.

Stylish, with lovely aromas of spice, violet, beef and ripe black cherries. Stays deftly balanced through the finish, with well-integrated oak and firm, chewy tannins. Drink now through 2006.
