(From 2000 Vintage) 2eme Cru Classe. Long on sweet oak enrichment and fairly forthright in plump, optimally ripened fruit, this full and fleshy wine is among the more accessible of the bunch. An absolutely delicious wine whose broad, nicely layered flavors suggest black cherries, currants, cocoa, cream and vanilla, it is far from soft in balance, but it so very open and inviting now that many of our panel wondered aloud that it might well hail from Napa Valley.

(From 1995 Vintage) "Very ripe, with an almost raisiny edge. Light vanilla flavor. Full-bodied, with lots of ripe fruit and a long, caressing, silky finish. Gorgeous wine. A couple more years will make it just right.--'95/'96 Bordeaux retrospective. Best after 2008. 8,300 cases made."
