Winemaker's Notes

(From 1997 Vintage) Approximately 20 percent of Cabernet Franc grapes are planted in the vineyard, quite a high amount for Pomerol. The merlot grapes grow in the presence of a light, sandy soil, on the most gravelly part of the property. Appellation: Pomerol Acreage:18 acres Grape varieties: 80% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc Production: 3,000 cases Tasting Notes: The wine is medium-bodied with a deep ruby color. The nose is jammy and moderately tannic. A well-structured wine with a long finish.

On the nose a dense wall of minerals with black berries, black currents, pencil shavings, dark plums and earthy notes. Well structured and balanced wine with smooth tannins. Impressive spicy richness.
