Wine Description

(From 2002 Vintage) A very intense nose with smoky, toasted notes of tobacco and black pepper. Intense floral aromas reveal themselves on the second nose. The attack is full and very powerful, leading into a highly structured mid-palate. The finish is long and deeply tannic, with final aromas of cherry and leather.

(From 2002 Vintage) Rating: 4/5 - As reviewed by Decanter. What great second wines are about. Easy, plummy, cigar-box flavour. Drink 2011-16. (GW)
  • Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines
(From 2006 Vintage) 65% Cabernet Sauvignon; 30% Merlot; 5% Cabernet Franc. Having read very positive reviews of this wine, we must admit to real disappointment with our sample. Its slightly thin aromas of cherries and dried brush are singularly lacking in richness, and its frontal, less-than-fruity flavors fall right in line. Aging may bring forth the depth we cannot see now, but we are comfortable in letting others take the risk.
