(From 2012 Vintage) As with all Bonterra wines, this one is well-mannered and balanced. The fruit is reminiscent of ripe plum and tart black currant, accented with a hint of toast and green olive. On the palate the texture is soft, the tannins firm but integrated, and the finish is dry and of moderate length.
(From 2000 Vintage) This velvety-soft red wine is a result of delicately blending a small amount of syrah. This gives this organically grown cabernet a complex structure of cherry and black pepper balanced by the toasty vanilla-spice from the new French and American oak.
Wine & SpiritsA wonderful red wine, full-bodied, dry and elegant. It shows Cabernet character in the blackberries, cherries and black currants, but that's balanced with an earthiness and minerality and even some smoked meat notes that must come from a percentage of Syrah and Petit Sirah. Tasted in a flight of much more expensive cabs, this one easily stood out. Editors' Choice.
