(2012 Vintage) As with all Bonterra wines, this one is well-mannered and balanced. The fruit is reminiscent of ripe plum and tart black currant, accented with a hint of toast and green olive. On the palate the texture is soft, the tannins firm but integrated, and the finish is dry and of moderate length.
Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines(2006 Vintage) 6% Syrah; 5% Petite Sirah; 5% Malbec. Its somewhat unusual cepage notwithstanding, this wine presents a direct, reasonably well-focused look at Cabernet Sauvignon, and while it may not challenge its pricier peers for size and long-term potential, it does put most wines in its price bracket to shame. It is balanced and agreeably supple in feel and follows with a mid-depth blend of ripe cherry and light oaky flavors. It is the best bargain in this Issue. GOOD VALUE
