(2005 Vintage) Garnacha: Jay Miller, Wine Advocate 92 "The 2005 Santa Cruz is sourced from a single vineyard of the same name. The vineyard is 100% Garnacha with vines ranging from 80-100 years of age. Opaque purple-colored, it reveals a slightly roasted bouquet with kirsch liqueur notes as well as fragrant black cherry and black raspberry. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied (16.5% alcohol), powerful, well-balanced, and long."
International Wine Cellar(2005 Vintage) Glass-staining ruby. Intensely perfumed and utterly seductive aromas of sexy red berries and kirsch, anise, mocha, blood orange and incense. Sweet red fruit flavors are complicated by Asian spices, floral pastille and smoky bacon, with gentle tannins adding shape and structure. Finishes long and sweet, with an echoing spiciness.
Decanter(2005 Vintage) Rating: 4/5 - As reviewed by Decanter. Some spice, marshmallow, brambly fruit; good, spicy, big fruit, good length.
