Brilliant Purple in color with rich aromas of blueberries, violets and new leather rising from the glass. Comes off as rich yet elegant but with an animal hint to it that really tempts you to take that first sip. First impression in the mouth is of black currant and vanilla but then as it hits your mid palate it explodes with ripe raspberry fruit and an earthy minerality that leaves you feeling refreshed. The finish is super long and reminiscent of the raspberry fruit on the mid-palate.
(From 2010 Vintage) It has a soft, mint-tinged bouquet with light dried rose petal tones. The palate is medium-bodied with a spicy entry, prickly red berry fruit, cedar and graphite originating from the oak. The finish is quite sharp with a dash of white pepper lingering on the aftertaste.
