The 2007 Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon offers aromas of black currant, star anise and wild mint. Plush flavors of blackberry, cardamom and bittersweet cocoa are accented by mouth-coating tannins and a luscious finish.
Tried with James Suckling Jan 2011. Amongst top 2 (of 8) we tried that night with Kapcsandy. Ripe, balanced fruit (raisins/sultanas), medium acidit, long finish. More complex and yet clean/balanced than other Cabs we tried that night
Smoothe on the pallet, great finish, low acidity/tannens, great with red meats and sea food
95 pts. full-bodied, velvety texture. hints of chocolate, bay leaf, licorice.
Excellent smooth merlot! Buy more!
Soft on the pallet. Not strong. :)
This is one of my favorite reds
Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines(From 1999 Vintage) Given the spectacular showing of this wine's older brother in our Centerfold tasting, its placing here comes as a complete surprise and an utter disappointment. Brushy, leathery, dry and somewhat muddy in aromatic tone, this expensive bottling goes from supple at entry to harsh and abrasive at the finish, and it never finds a remotely adequate supply of fruit.
