Winemaker's Notes

This balanced red delivers expressive flavors on a supple frame. Plum, currant and espresso notes are lively and focused, accented by licorice and tobacco. This features fine tannins and fresh acidity. Only 450 cases were produced of the 2007 Musée, which is a blend of 73% Merlot, 11% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Petit Verdot, and 5% Syrah. The wine was aged 13 months in 50% new French oak barrels. The label features a daguerreotype of grapes specially commissioned by Bedell from Chuck Close, a renowned contemporary artist and recipient of the 2000 National Medal of Arts.
