(2006 Vintage) Cold maceration before alcoholic fermentation is the DP style, oriented to preserve primary fruit aromas and a natural clean fruit expression. Fermented by native yeasts at low temperatures and aged in 100% new French Taransaud oak for 24 months. Neither fined nor filtered. Classic and complex aromas of pure, juicy berries, black cherry and spice basket with layers of dried plums.Full bodied with round velvety and supple tannins, elegant, rich, modern and multidimensional.
Wine Spectator 92 Shows both power and purity, with dark currant, fig and ganache notes spiked with brighter blueberry and violet hints. The long finish drips with fruit and manages to stay fresh, with a hint of pastis hanging on. Drink now through 2012. 1,200 cases imported. –JM
