Wine Description

(From 2013 Vintage) Old Vines is composed of a variety of old sites from California that are either too small to be made into a vineyard designate wine or are “new” to the Turley family (and way of farming). Vines are anywhere from 41 to 129 years old, and a true representation of California old vine Zinfandel, hailing from vineyards in Napa, Sonoma, Mendocino, Lodi, Contra Costa, Amador and Paso Robles.

Winemaker's Notes

[91 pts Robert Parker] The 2006 Zinfandel Rattlesnake Ridge from the cool upper elevations of Howell Mountain displays a lighter style medium body a fragrant up-front almost Pinot Noir-like delicacy but some real strength in the background. This is not one of the bigger Zinfandels despite the high alcohol and in fact it seems to be finesse-styled. Drink it over the next 4-5 years.
