(From 2008 Vintage) The 2008 Stump Jump Red has a nose of ripe and juicy red fruits and fresh plums mixed with dark cherry, rhubarb and cardamon. The palate is soft and generous, with juicy fresh red berries, mulberry and a hint of pomegranate. Underlying is a more subtle layer of plum stone, star anise and cinnamon which adds complexity and interest, with soft powdery tannins to finish.
The grapes used for this Stump Jump are from predominantly very old bush-vine Grenache, Shiraz and Mourvedre vines. Small parcels of grapes sourced from various vineyards in McLaren Vale were gently crushed, fermented in traditional open-tanks, basked pressed and matured prior to bottling. Grenache 46%, shiraz 34%, Mourvedre 20%
Wine Spectator(From 2009 Vintage) "Light and lively, with pretty floral apple flavors at the fore, remaining on the finish with hints of grapefruit and spice in a refreshing style. Riesling, Marsanne and Sauvignon Blanc. Drink now. 5,000 cases imported."
