2006 St Hallett Shiraz Blackwell

Winemaker's Notes

(From 2010 Vintage) Dense, inky dark red colour with purple hues. Bouquet Intense layers of ripe raspberry and blackberry aromas with licorice and vanilla orchid afterthoughts. Palate The opening act is all about intense, full bodied black forest cake flavours with soft texture. This opening integrates seamlessly with a pleasing grainy, chocolate like mouth feel and some anise and mocha characters at the finale. It evokes an image and feeling of wrapping oneself in the big purple velvet curtain at the State theatre.

Good but not as good as Peter Dennis. A little more acid.
