(1996 Vintage) Fresh aromas of cherries, plums, cassis, cedar and oak present themselves in the nose. There is a hint of vanilla, from the new oak used in the aging process. Flavors very closely follow the aromas, complimented with a hint of blackberries and boysenberries. With soft, moderate tannins in this wine, it is remarkably approachable in its youth, yet will age well for another 5-8 years.
