Winemaker's Notes

The TdP vineyard is technically in the Sonoma Coast appellation but is more specifically in an area known as the “Petaluma Gap.” This area is especially cool and windy and thus can produce concentrated and complex Pinot Noirs.

  • Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines
(From 2007 Vintage) Sweet and surprisingly seductive for a wine of its tender years, this lively, eminently fruity young Pinot steps up and delivers lots of right-now appeal. It might justly be criticized as being a little too frontal, but no one will find fault with its generous, sweet-cherry fruit, and it will make for friendly drinking over the next couple of years while its ambitious, more highly-priced cousins slowly evolve in the cellar.
  • Wine & Spirits
(From 2008 Vintage) The spicy 2004 Pinot Noir Sonoma reveals a light ruby color followed by aromas of spice box, plums, and cherries. It possesses nice volume, medium body, and the same weight and suppleness as the Santa Rita Hills, but displays a completely different fruit expression.
