Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines(1999 Vintage) Attractive red cherry notes are joined in the nose by brushy and herbal notes, and that blend of youthful fruit and green-edged seasonings persists in the mouth as well. Smooth and viscous on the palate but somewhat less concentrated than it could be, it gives way a bit in the finish yet never gives up its essential fruit and its easy Merlot charm.
