2006 Provenance Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Rutherford

Wine Description

(From 2001 Vintage) Bright medium ruby. Redcurrant, pipe tobacco and chocolatey oak on the nose. Thick, layered and reasonably deep, with the currant, mocha and underbrush flavors showing an almost liqueur-like sweetness. Finishes with big, chewy, building tannins and a strong flavor of pipe tobacco.

Winemaker's Notes

With lively aromatics and rich, complex flavors, our 2006 Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon captures the famous attributes of Napa Valley's famous Rutherford region. The wine's aromas open with lush black cherry and blackberry character, infused with subtle hints of mocha, flinty minerality and black tea. Its expansive fruit flavors are packed with ripe berry, currant and plum—-with dark chocolate and toffee nuances—that persist on the palate. Balanced acidity and ripe, muscular tannins frame the midpalate flavors. This wine's graceful style and cocoa powder finish make it a truly classic Rutherford Dust Cabernet Sauvignon.
